Accessibility Statement for Marketing essentials (B128)
Mode of study
All of this module’s study materials are online. Online materials are composed of pages of text with images; short audio/video clips (all with transcripts/subtitles); diagrams; tables, activities, interactive media; animations; and multiple-choice self-assessed quizzes. Online materials also include links to external resources, online forums and online tutorial rooms.
Tuition strategy
This module provides seven online tutorials and study skills workshops over three blocks. These tutorials are designed to provide you with the crucial skills necessary to undertake this module, engage with the activities and tasks throughout the module, and complete the assessments successfully. These tutorials are also instrumental in enhancing your digital and information literacy skills. Although not compulsory, tutorials will help you consolidate your learning.
Working with others
You will be required to work with other students, and we will assess this. This includes looking at and commenting on others’ work, reflecting on others’ comments on your work, and/or working together with fellow learners on an assignment or task.
Diagrams and other visual content
The study materials contain a considerable number of diagrams, graphs, tables, and audio-visuals. Reading and interpreting these is an important part of the study of this module. We provide descriptions for all essential figures.
Finding information
You will be required to search for and make use of third-party material online. We can provide alternatives for required research material to enable you to meet the learning outcomes of the module.
Assessment
This module has two tutor-marked assignments (TMAs) and an end-of-module assessment (EMA). The assessments are designed to progressively build your understanding of key marketing concepts, including consumer behaviour, marketing research, and practical case study analysis. There will be a light online collaborative group work for one of the TMAs, with feedback provided throughout to support your development.
Feedback
You’ll receive feedback from your tutor on your submitted tutor-marked assignments (TMAs). This will help you to reflect on your TMA performance. You should refer to it to help you prepare for your next assignment.
Schedule
We structure all University modules to a set timetable and you’ll need time-management skills to keep your studies on track. We’ll support you in developing these skills.
