Accessibility Statement for Introduction to healthcare practice (KYN104)

Mode of study

All of the study materials for this module are online. Online materials are composed of pages of text with images, audio and video clips (all with transcripts/subtitles), diagrams, interactive media, animations and multiple-choice self-assessment quizzes. Online materials also include links to internal and external resources, online forums and online tutorial rooms.

Tuition strategy

The learning events for this module are delivered online and are a mandatory requirement under NMC rules. All assignments (Tutor Marked Assignments) are submitted and marked electronically. You will also have three practice review meetings with your Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor and your Practice Tutor/Academic Assessor.

Working with others

You will be required to work with other students. This includes contributing to the learning of others, looking at, and commenting on, the work of others, reflecting on others’ comments on your work, and/or working together with fellow learners on a project/task.

Practical work

This is a work-based module during which students are required to work in healthcare practice settings.

Diagrams and other visual content

The study materials contain some diagrams. Interpreting these is an important part of the study of this module. Figure descriptions are provided for all figures.

Finding information

You will be required to search for, and make use of, third party material online.

Assessment

This module has Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMAs), Interactive Computer- Marked Assignments (iCMAs), an End-of-Module Assessment, and a Practice Assessment Document (PAD).

Feedback

You will receive feedback from your tutor on your submitted Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMAs). This will help you to reflect on your TMA performance. You should refer to it to help you prepare for your next assignment.

Schedule

All University modules are structured according to a set timetable and you will need time-management skills to keep your studies on track. You will be supported in developing these skills. Resources exist on StudentHome to support study skills development.
