Accessibility Statement for Core physics (S227)
Mode of study
Most of the materials are online. Online materials comprise pages of text with images, audio/video clips of 2–20 minutes, diagrams, interactive media, animations and multiple-choice self-assessed quizzes. Online materials also include links to external resources, forums and tutorial rooms.
Tuition strategy
This module has online tutorials. Although not compulsory, tutorials will help you consolidate your learning.
Working with others
You’ll work with other students, but we don’t assess this. This includes looking at and commenting on others’ work, reflecting on others’ comments on your work, and working with fellow learners on a task.
Mathematical and scientific expressions and notations
You’ll use mathematical and scientific symbols and expressions throughout the module and within assessment.
Diagrams and other visual content
The study materials contain a considerable number of diagrams and graphs. Reading, interpreting and producing these is an important part of your study, and we assess this. We provide descriptions for all essential figures.
Finding information
You’ll search for and use third-party material online, and we assess this. We can provide alternatives for required/assessed research material to enable you to meet the module’s learning outcomes.
In this module, you’ll search for, evaluate and summarise news articles on recent physics-related topics.
Specialist reading material
You’ll work with specialist reading material such as mathematical notation. We’ll present these online and in printed form.
Assessment
This module has tutor-marked assignments (TMAs) that you submit via the online TMA service, and an online exam.
Feedback
You’ll receive feedback from your tutor on your tutor-marked assignments (TMAs). Feedback will help you to reflect on your TMA performance. You should refer to it to help you prepare for your next assignment.
Schedule
We structure all modules to a set timetable, and you’ll need time-management skills to keep your studies on track. We’ll support you in developing these skills.
