Accessibility Statement for Design practices (T190)
Mode of study
Most of this module’s study materials are online. Online materials are pages of text with images, audio/video clips (with transcripts/subtitles), diagrams and interactive media. Online materials also include links to external resources, online forums and online tuition spaces.
Tuition strategy
This module provides a range of learning events, including lectures, check-in sessions, and project reviews. You should engage with these events as part of the development of your design skills and expertise.
Working with others
You’ll be encouraged to engage with other students like groups of creative practitioners would. This includes looking at and commenting on others’ work, reflecting on others’ comments on your work, and working with fellow learners to develop ideas and design skills.
Practical work
Practical work is a critical part of the module, ranging from sketching (physically or digitally) and making models and prototypes to undertaking design research through observation and preparing presentation material. Alternative approaches to all activities are possible, and a key outcome will be your ability to find the ways you prefer to learn and practice design.
Diagrams and other visual content
The study materials contain many images of varying types, and you must create visual materials as part of your work. We provide descriptions for all images.
Finding information
We encourage you to search for and use third-party material online.
Assessment
This module has Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMAs) and an end-of-module assessment submitted online.
Feedback
Feedback from your tutor (and other students) is critical, and you&/courses/t190-accessibility-statement/39;ll use it to develop your own design work. You will have different opportunities to receive feedback from your tutor, including regular progress reviews, project reviews, and in the online studio.
Schedule
We structure all University modules to a set timetable; you’ll need time-management skills to keep your studies on track. We’ll support you in developing these skills.
