Accessibility Statement for Environmental management: pathways to sustainability (T330)
Mode of study
Around half of this module’s study materials are online. Online materials comprise pages of text with images, audio/video clips of 5–10 minutes (all with transcripts/subtitles), diagrams, interactive media, animations and multiple-choice self-assessed quizzes. Online materials also include links to external resources, forums and tutorial rooms. We provide printed materials for all module content except for audio and video (where we can provide a transcript) and interactives (where we can provide an accessible alternative).
Tuition strategy
This module has online tutorials and informal team discussions. Although not compulsory, tutorials will help you consolidate your learning.
Working with others
Although working with others is not assessed, you’ll share your experiences in the online forums and reflect on and respond to the experiences of others. This involves sharing two or three short pieces of text of one or two paragraphs each. You’ll also practice providing anonymised constructive feedback on your peers’ work and receiving and responding to constructive comments from your peers. Reflections and insights from collaborative tasks will feed into your assignments and end-of-module assessment.
Diagrams and other visual content
The study materials contain a considerable number of diagrams, graphs and photographs. Reading, interpreting and creating these is an important part of your study, and we assess this. We provide descriptions for all essential figures.
Finding information
You’ll search for and use third-party online material, and we assess this. We can provide alternatives for required/assessed research material to enable you to meet the module’s learning outcomes.
This module uses the case studies of ‘tiny forests’ and &/courses/t330-accessibility-statement/39;urban heat islands&/courses/t330-accessibility-statement/39;. You’ll search for and find similar case studies online and compare and contrast the process and outcomes.
Assessment
This module has tutor-marked assignments (TMAs) and an end-of-module assessment (EMA) that you submit via the online TMA/EMA service, plus interactive computer-marked assignments completed online.
Feedback
You’ll receive feedback from your tutor on your tutor-marked assignments (TMAs). Feedback will help you to reflect on your TMA performance and prepare for your next assignment.
Schedule
We structure all modules to a set timetable, and you’ll need time-management skills to keep your studies on track. We’ll support you in developing these skills.
