Accessibility Statement for Web technologies (TM252)
Mode of study
All of this module’s study materials are online. Online materials comprise pages of text with images, audio/video clips (all with transcripts/subtitles), diagrams, interactive media, animations, and multiple-choice self-assessed quizzes. Online materials also include links to external resources, online forums and online tutorial rooms.
Tuition strategy
This module provides online tutorials. Although not compulsory, tutorials will help you consolidate your learning.
Working with others
You’ll be required to work with other students, and we assess this. This includes looking at and commenting on others’ work, reflecting on others’ comments on your work, and working on a small-scale web design task.
Practical work
Computer practical work forms a required assessment component – you’ll conduct practical activities using specialised software. The nature and output of the activities and assessment tasks may require some students to use a sighted helper to perform them.
Mathematical and scientific expressions and notations
You’ll be required to use mathematical and scientific symbols and expressions in some parts of the module. You’ll not be required to use such notation within assessments.
Diagrams and other visual content
The study materials contain some diagrams and graphs and many code portions. Reading and interpreting diagrams, and interpreting, producing and debugging code are important parts of this module and are assessed. We provide descriptions for all figures.
Finding information
You’ll be required to search for and use third-party material online, and we assess this. We can provide alternatives for required/assessed research material to enable you to meet the module&/courses/tm252-accessibility-statement/39;s learning outcomes.
Assessment
This module has tutor-marked assignments, interactive computer-marked assignments and an end-of-module assessment, all submitted online.
Feedback
You’ll receive feedback from your tutor on your submitted tutor-marked assignments to help you to reflect on your performance. You should refer to this feedback to help prepare for your next assignment.
Schedule
We structure all University modules to a set timetable. You’ll need time-management skills to keep your studies on track; we’ll support you in developing these skills.
Specialist software
Practical work and assessments require specialist wireframing software and a simple code editor, which may not be fully accessible.
