We welcome projects that critically engage with development policy and practice. Our work interrogates the power relations that shape how knowledge about development is produced, how development interventions are designed and implemented, and who benefits from development and who does not.

Our areas of specialism include: attempts to mobilise heritage for development; responses to climate change and disasters; social protection and poverty reduction; political ecology; inter-generational relations; the politics of participatory development; and non-state or hybrid governance.

Across all of these areas, we are particularly interested in the relationship between colonialism and the contemporary politics of development.
